Yoga for real life

Move your body. Calm your mind.

About

Hiya, I'm Kathy.

I'm a Vinyasa yoga teacher based in sunny Stockport.

I came to yoga at a time in my life when I was searching for an outlet from the fast pace of everyday life. Ironically, instead of an outlet, I found a way to create a little more space within it.

I spent my early career as a professional performer and, for the past decade, have worked as a development coach - something I now do alongside teaching yoga - helping people navigate the wonderfully messy reality of being human.

Both worlds have shaped the way I practise and teach, bringing together a love of movement, strength, breath and expression with a curiosity for what happens beneath the surface.

Head over to my Substack for thoughts on life, growth and navigating the chaos of the modern world - sometimes through the lens of yogic philosophy, usually with a healthy dose of sarcasm.

The practice

Moving with life

I love the physicality of yoga - flowing through movement, building strength, exploring what our bodies can do and finding that lovely balance between effort and ease.

My classes are rooted in Vinyasa, bringing movement, strength and breath together through creative, flowing sequences designed to build mobility, explore what our bodies can do and create space to reconnect with ourselves.

But for me, the practice goes beyond the physical.

Yoga isn't about finding an hour of peace before heading straight back into the chaos. It's about what we can take from the mat into everyday life.

A little more awareness, a little more space to breathe and the ability to meet whatever comes our way with greater calm and clarity.

Life will always happen.

My hope is that through moving, breathing and practising together, we become a little better at moving with it.

Let's practise together…

Yoga isn't something to perfect, perform or get 'right'.

Some days you might feel strong. Some days you might need to soften. Some days balance is there; other days, absolutely not.

It's all part of the practice.

This is simply a space to move, breathe, explore and be - meeting yourself wherever you are that day.

All you need to do is show up.
