Who we are

Yoga with Kathy B is a trading name of Be Your Own Coach LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16219752), whose registered office is 13 Stockport Road, Marple, Stockport, SK6 6BD. We are the controller of the personal information described here.

What we collect

When you book a class we ask for:

• your name and email address, and your phone number if you choose to give it;
• the name and phone number of someone to call in an emergency;
• whether any of the listed health conditions apply to you, and anything else you tell us in the notes;
• your agreement to the Health Declaration & Waiver, and when you gave it.

If you pay by card, the payment is taken by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We keep the amount you paid and Stripe's reference for the payment.

Like most websites, our server also records the internet address and browser of each visitor for a short time, to keep the site secure and to fix problems.

Why we use it

• To book you in and tell you about your class. We need your name and email address to carry out the booking you have asked for (our contract with you).
• To teach you safely. Information about your health is used only so that the class can be taught safely for you. We hold it because you give us your explicit consent when you book. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us, although we may then be unable to offer you a place.
• To get help if you become unwell. Your emergency contact is used only in an emergency, which is in your interests and ours. Please let them know that you have given us their details.
• To keep proper records. We keep a record of bookings, payments and agreed waivers to meet our tax obligations and to deal with any complaint or legal claim.

We do not use your details for marketing, and we never sell them.

Who we share it with

Only the companies that help us run the site, and only as far as they need it:

• Stripe takes card payments, and receives your name and email address with the payment.
• Resend delivers our emails, so it handles your name, email address and class details.
• Amazon Web Services hosts the website and stores its encrypted backups.
• Cloudflare protects the website, and handles the traffic between you and it.

Your health information stays in our own booking records and backups; it is not sent to Stripe or included in our emails. Some of these companies may handle information outside the UK, in which case it is protected by the safeguards that UK data protection law requires.

How long we keep it

We keep your booking, including your health declaration and emergency contact, for five years after the class it was for, and then delete it. Backups of our records can hold a copy for up to two months after that. Stripe keeps its own record of payments for as long as the law requires.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie, which keeps the booking form secure. Cloudflare may add another that it needs to protect the site. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, so there is nothing to opt in to.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop or limit how we use it. Email [email protected] and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Under 18s

Classes are for adults aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect information about children.
